Documerge offers seamless integration with Formstack Documents, allowing you to effortlessly import all folders, documents, and data routes from their system to ours. Below, you’ll find a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this.
The first step in connecting Formstack Documents to Documerge is to generate an API key and secret from the Formstack website. To do this, log in to your Formstack Documents account. Once logged in, navigate to the Profile dropdown menu and select “API Access“. This will take you to the section where you can create the necessary API key and secret for the integration.
Once there next step is to create a new API key in Formstack. To do this, click on “+New API Key” and enter a name for the API key:
After adding name and clicking “Create key” API key and secret will be automatically created by Formstack.
Once you have created the API key and secret in Formstack, proceed to the Documerge interface and locate the Account Settings, which can be found in the top right corner of the page. Within the Account Settings, navigate to the Formstack Documents section. Here, you will see an option labeled “Sync Formstack Document Account. Click on this option to initiate the synchronization process. You will then be prompted to paste the API key and secret key that you generated in Formstack.
After successfully syncing your account, the Formstack Documents section will present you with two action buttons. The first button allows you to import data from Formstack Documents, enabling you to seamlessly retrieve and integrate your folders, documents, and data routes into Documerge. The second button provides the option to unsync the Formstack Documents account, giving you the flexibility to disconnect your account if needed. These actions ensure that you have full control over your Formstack Documents integration, allowing for easy management of your data synchronization preferences.
Clicking on “Import Data from Formstack Documents” will start a background job that retrieves all folders, documents, and data routes from Formstack and stores them in Documerge. If a folder, document, or data route already exists in Documerge, its data will be updated to reflect the latest information from Formstack without creating duplicates. Once the import process is complete, you will receive an email notification summarizing the results. During the import, a message will be displayed in the Formstack Documents section, indicating that data is being imported from Formstack. This ensures that you are aware of the ongoing process and can monitor its progress until completion.
